Faith-Based Commitment
In stewardship of the resources entrusted to us, GOI expects all employees to use and protect organizational property with integrity, respect, and diligence, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence and responsibility.
- All employees share responsibility for maintaining the security of GOI facilities and work areas.
- Employees entrusted with facility keys or access codes must ensure the facility is properly secured when they are the last to leave.
This includes:- Turning off appropriate lights
- Closing and locking all doors
- Setting the security alarm system
- Employees who are uncertain about security procedures must consult the Director of Operations or the Human Resources Director for instruction or clarification.
- Any potential or suspected security risks—including unsecured doors, malfunctioning locks, suspicious activity, or missing keys—must be reported immediately to a supervisor or HR.
- To avoid inconsistent enforcement or employee confusion, supervisors must ensure staff are trained on closing procedures and alarm operation.
- Key access should be assigned only as needed and tracked through Operations to prevent loss, duplication, or misuse.
- Employees should not share keys or access codes with unauthorized individuals to protect staff safety and organizational assets.
2. Company Equipment
- Company equipment—including computers, mobile devices, tools, and office machinery—is to be used solely for organizational purposes unless specific personal use has been approved by a supervisor.
- Employees must take reasonable care to protect organization property from damage, loss, or unauthorized use.
- Personal locks may not be used on desks, cabinets, or other workspaces that contain organization property.
Integrated Safeguards (Concerns & Recommendations):
- Misuse of company equipment may result in disciplinary action, including financial responsibility for intentional damage or neglect.
- Supervisors should ensure employees understand which items may leave the premises (e.g., laptops) and which may not.
- To protect confidential information, employees should not store organization-owned equipment in unsecured areas or personal vehicles overnight.
- HR and IT should be notified immediately of any damaged, stolen, or malfunctioning equipment to reduce liability and ensure timely repair or replacement.
