Employee Benefits

Employee Benefits

Effective Date:
November 2025
Focus Group:
Eligible Employees
Purpose:
Global Outreach International provides a comprehensive benefits program designed to support the well-being of employees and their families. Because benefit plans are governed by formal plan documents and federal regulations, this section summarizes general eligibility and access. In all cases, the Summary Plan Description (SPD) and full plan documents control. If this handbook conflicts with an SPD or governing plan document, the plan document prevails.
Guidelines:
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Full-time employees working 32 hours or more per week are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance beginning on their first day of employment.
To remain eligible, employees must continue to work a minimum of 32 hours per week, unless otherwise protected by applicable leave laws (e.g., FMLA).

Group Life Insurance
GOI provides a $25,000 basic life insurance benefit for full-time employees (32+ hours weekly). Premiums for the basic life benefit are fully paid by the organization.
Employees may choose to purchase additional supplemental coverage at their own cost, subject to the insurance carrier’s rules.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)
Long-term disability insurance is provided at no cost to full-time employees who work at least 32 hours per week. If an employee becomes totally disabled, LTD coverage provides 60% of base salary, up to policy limits.
LTD benefits will run concurrently with FMLA or any other available leave when permitted by law.

Retirement Plan
GOI supports long-term financial stewardship by offering eligible employees access to a 401(k) plan and a Roth IRA plan.
Employees may contact HR with questions regarding eligibility, plan enrollment, contribution limits, or matching options (if offered at that time).

Workers’ Compensation
Workers’ compensation insurance is fully funded by GOI and provides medical care, rehabilitation, and partial wage replacement to employees who suffer a work-related injury or illness.

Employees must immediately notify their supervisor and HR if injured at work. The supervisor or HR will complete the incident report and file the claim with the insurer. In true emergencies, employees should go directly to the nearest emergency room before reporting the injury to HR.

Workers’ compensation benefits will run concurrently with FMLA leave, where applicable and permitted by law. Vacation or sick leave cannot be used to duplicate wage replacement but may supplement partial benefits when allowed under state law.

Faith-Based Commitment

GOI seeks to ensure that employee benefits reflect stewardship, compassion, and responsible care for the workforce while honoring legal and regulatory obligations that govern employer-sponsored benefit plans.
