Focus Group:
|
Home Office Staff
|
|
Purpose:
|
To provide clear guidelines for non-exempt home office employees who wish to engage in fundraising activities in support of their projects, while maintaining alignment with their job responsibilities and the mission of Global Outreach International.
|
Guidelines:
1. Supervisor Coordination
Employees must plan all fundraising activities in advance with their immediate supervisor. Supervisors will ensure that proposed activities align with the employee’s primary role, workload, and the organization’s overall goals.
2. Primary Duties Take Precedence
Fundraising activities are considered secondary to an employee’s core job responsibilities. Supervisors and employees should work together to confirm that participation does not interfere with regular duties or office operations.
3. Permissible Activities
All fundraising activities must remain reasonable in scope. These efforts may include activities such as, but not limited to:
4. Overtime for Fundraising
Fundraising activities should not result in overtime by extending beyond normal working hours. All work performed must comply with wage and hour regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Faith-Based Commitment
Global Outreach International encourages its team members to share in ministry support while honoring their work commitments and stewarding time wisely. These practices ensure that fundraising complements, rather than competes with, the organization’s shared mission.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23
