Workplace Violence Prevention
Global Outreach International is committed to maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees. Because of this commitment, employees should not attempt to physically confront a violent or potentially violent individual and should avoid any behavior that could reasonably be viewed as threatening or intimidating.
Global Outreach strictly prohibits threats, threatening language, intimidation, harassment, aggressive behavior, or any act of violence—whether verbal, written, physical, or implied. Examples include, but are not limited to: verbal or physical harassment or abuse; attempts to intimidate or coerce; menacing or hostile gestures; stalking; or any destructive or disruptive actions intended to cause fear, harm, or property damage. This guideline applies to conduct occurring in any workplace setting or at any organization-sponsored activity.
Every employee shares responsibility for helping maintain a safe environment. Employees who experience, witness, or become aware of behavior that may pose a threat to themselves, others, or the organization should promptly notify their supervisor or the HR Director. Reports made in good faith will not result in retaliation or adverse action.
Global Outreach will review and evaluate all reported concerns in a timely manner. When appropriate, the organization may involve outside resources, including law enforcement. Individuals who engage in violent or threatening behavior may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination, consistent with applicable state law.
